Tornadoes don't stop National Children's Conference
North Little Rock, Arkansas, has seen a plethora of disruptive weather in the last several weeks, from severe flooding to destructive tornadic activity. But despite all of the challenges the weather has provided, the 2008 National Children's Ministries Leadership Conference, held April 1-4, 2008, was deemed a major success.
The event, held at First Assembly in North Little Rock saw more than 650 children's pastors, workers and leaders join together to network, glean information and press in to the heart of God and His calling on their lives.
With attendees from across North America and around the world, the intentional design of the event was successfully conveyed to conference attendees.
"With 150 workshops, intentional general sessions and engaging network times, we believe that we were able to achieve our goal of reaching, refreshing and training children's leaders," says Jason Noble, national CMA director. "I can definitely say if you missed this conference, you missed a great experience."
"We believe it's important not only to connect the attendees with each other but with the workshop presenters and national headquarters staff," says Conference Coordinator Christopher Strok. "With a team of high-caliber presenters, teachers and speakers, the NCMLC attendees were able to hear the heart, vision and value of children's ministries from Dr. George Wood, Alton Garrison, Candy Tolbert and Doug Marsh in addition to the national CMA team."
However, according to Strok, even if you missed the conference, you can still benefit from it. The workshop sessions were taped and will be made available to purchase online at http://www.cmalead.org beginning May 1, 2008.
"We will also be working to get online free podcasts and video casts of select workshops, and general sessions on the CMA conference Web site as well," Strok says.
"We're in the process of unveiling the next event soon, so be sure to check the Web site for the date, time and location of the next CMA event," Noble adds. "We couldn't be more pleased with the outcome of the event or more thankful for the presence of the Lord." |
