Children’s Leaders Gear Up for Major Outreach to Indianapolis
The 52nd General Council in Indianapolis, Indiana, will host one of the largest- ever Convoy of Hope outreaches in that city on August 11, with the goal of sharing the gospel message and being Christ in action to thousands of children, youth, and adults.
“The people of Indianapolis will see one of the largest ever Kids’ Zone conducted at the Convoy of Hope, which will be held from 9:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., August 11,” says Marshall Bruner, outreach coordinator with the national Children’s Ministries Agency. “The objective is to demonstrate the love of God to the guests who arrive at the Convoy of Hope’s first attraction: the Kids’ Zone.
“Karl Fleig, who serves as the Indiana District Christian Education Director, has been working long and hard with his team of children’s leaders to present the biggest, most fun Kids’ Zone possible,” Bruner adds. “The Kids’ Zone will include two ministry stages, a performance stage, about 15 bounce houses, and an array of water activities and carnival-type games.”
Bruner says that while over 100 children’s leaders have volunteered for the Kids’ Zone activities, more helpers are needed to assist with the ministry stages, performance stage, game activities, greeters, security, registration, and other duties—just for the Kids’ Zone alone.
“The goal is to make this the biggest, most extravagant Kids’ Zone ever,” says Bruner, “so we can offer the kids of Indianapolis a great time, but most importantly the opportunity to know Jesus as their personal Savior.” If you want the opportunity of a lifetime—that is to demonstrate the love of Christ to thousands of children—then plan to be a part of the August 11 Convoy of Hope.”
According to Bruner, volunteers must be screened by their local churches and endorsed by their senior pastor. If you can volunteer, and possibly supply game activities, your help is needed and appreciated. For further information, contact Marshall Bruner at 417.862.2781, ext. 4093, or at mbruner@ag.org. |
